As was expected the Athenaeum Library had to close again on August 5th and remained closed until October 21st. This was in line with the government directions. The re-opening was greeted with great pleasure by our members and also the volunteers were glad to be back in the swing of things.
Our fund raising activities during this year have been severally restricted and this has been a concern. We were lucky enough to be the group that manned the gates for the February Market in Maldon so that helped carry us through. One of our wonderful volunteers had the great idea of making masks and donating all the money to the Library and this little fund raiser was so popular that quite a few hundred dollars was raised and people loved their stylish masks.
We are going to have a Christmas Get Together on Friday 4th December in the Maldon Park with Covid 19 precautions in place. It will be nice to have a little social event.
We had permission from ACV to postpone our AGM until February 2021 so that we can have a full complement of people present.
